The Continuing Saga of the New Lord of Muncaster Castle

Ewan Frost-Pennington, who inherited the responsibility of running Muncaster Castle, which has been owned by his family since 1208, talks with Alan Fine of Insider Travel Report about how he is transitioning the castle from being a day trip for visitors to an international destination. Located just two hours from Manchester, this “proper castle” has 147 rooms, 77 acres of gardens and 30 birds of prey. The special dinners with his family in the main hall are catered for groups using a “formality index,” so guests know whether to wear sneakers or evening attire.
